Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Subclass 186

The Employer Nomination Scheme visa (subclass 186) is for skilled workers who want to work in Australia. This visa involves a two-step process, firstly, nomination by an approved Australian employer and then an application under the nominated stream. It is part of the Permanent Employer Sponsored Visa program.

This visa is a Permanent Residence PR visa. You can​be in or outside Australia when you apply. If you are in Australia, you must hold a substantive visa or a bridging visa A, B or C.

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) Subclass 187

The Regional Skilled Migration Scheme (RSMS) allows employers in regional or low population growth areas of Australia to fill skilled positions they are unable to fill from the local labor market. An employer can take part in the scheme if their business is in any area except Brisbane, Gold Coast, Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong, Melbourne, and Perth.

The RSMS visa involves a three step process:

1. Regional Certification Board (RCB) approval 

2. Nomination by an approved Australian employer and,

3. A Subclass 187 visa application by the skilled worker.
